Creative confetti - the ultimate guide to a fun, photogenic confetti photograph

Creative confetti - the ultimate guide to a fun, photogenic confetti photograph

Some of the most amazing, spontaneous, photogenic moments at a wedding often happen when the couple just married and are in a flurry of confetti!

Whilst now it’s a fun moment for guests to toss confetti in the air, the tradition actually started in Italy when throwing petals or rice at the happy couple was a sign of prosperity and fertility. Today, the confetti shot comes in a variety of shapes of sizes and sometimes these don’t even involve confetti but other unique and colourful creations (more on that later!)

So when and where should we do a confetti shot? How do we go about organising it?

What happens at a wedding photography consultation and pre-wedding photo session?

What happens at a wedding photography consultation and pre-wedding photo session?

Whilst researching for your wedding day, you’ll no doubt have spent a lot of time on the internet looking at local suppliers in Nottingham, Derby and the East Midlands.

During our consultations, we love to meet up in person, grab some coffee (and cake - Dave can’t resist a piece of cake!) and have a chat. Usually couples get in contact via Facebook, email or phone and sharing their wedding date and location as part of the enquiry. Once we’ve checked if we’re available for your big day, we’ll arrange a time and date to meet you both for a chat and a free, no-obligation pre-wedding photo-shoot.

Give the gift of photography this Christmas

As we step into December, everyone's minds must be looking towards Christmas and... uho.
What do I get for the person that has everything?

How about something a little different, a little more personal and something that they can truly treasure forever? A photograph means so much more to people than many people realise. An opportunity to capture your family, your engagement or wedding that you will look back on in a few years and say, "Yes, I'm so glad I had that taken."

Chloe and Craig (and the kids!) pre-wedding and family photography session

As the autumn leaves were still on the trees, and the colours were still looking stunning, we were really excited to meet Chloe and Craig (and of course their gorgeous kids, Spencer and Frazer) at Elvaston Castle in Derbyshire for their pre-wedding photography session. These meet-ups are always great, we get together with a couple for the first time, talk through their plans for their wedding and do a quick photography session, all before they book or commit to using us for their wedding.

How many of you wish, or have wished, for an outdoor ceremony in the the middle of a whimsical, fairy tale woodland? But risking the good old British weather put you off. Well, Laura and Ashley took that brave chance for their September wedding and had their wish granted! It was touch and go on the day, with the skies threatening to open, but at the last minute the registrar declared, “You shall be married outside” and saved the day. Hooray!
