As the autumn leaves were still on the trees, and the colours were still looking stunning, we were really excited to meet Chloe and Craig (and of course their gorgeous kids, Spencer and Frazer) at Elvaston Castle in Derbyshire for their pre-wedding photography session. These meet-ups are always great, we get together with a couple for the first time, talk through their plans for their wedding and do a quick photography session, all before they book or commit to using us for their wedding.
“It was important to us to have a photographer who captured all the magical “in action” moments and personal touches.
We were absolutely delighted with the photos as they captured the day perfectly. We couldn’t recommend him highly enough!”

One concern many parents have about booking a family photo session is “What if my kids misbehave and we end up with terrible pictures?”
Honestly? We totally expect it.
And we actually love a bit of mischief!!
We LOVE autumn, we LOVE the colours and we LOVE the many, many photographic opportunities it brings. These photographic opportunities are way more exciting that the many pumpkin spiced lattes you might see on Instagram!
So when you book your autumn family photography session, what creative ideas should you get out of your session? Whether you book a shoot with us or another family photographer in Nottingham, make sure you go prepared with these creative shots and tips!
One of the more common concerns we hear from parents in the run up to a photo shoot is, what if my child misbehaves or won’t smile? We tell parents not to worry about it, having been a teacher for nearly 5 years Dave knows what kids can be like. He knows how to have fun with them, when to have a joke and when, actually, they’re just a little shy and need a bit of time to get used to the situation.
In recent years, the way we view photography has completely transformed. Images can be taken, editing and shared online in a matter of seconds. As a result, the way we purchase family photographs from a professional photographer has changed as well. So why should you invest in more than just digital photographs at your next family photography session?
One of the best things about our local area is that we are surrounded by such beautiful, natural spaces to visit with the family. Whether it’s the lakes at both Attenborough Nature Reserve or Colwick Country Park, the Peak District or local woodlands, parks or open spaces around the city- you’ll be surprised what’s just around the corner!
So why not get out and enjoy these beautiful, natural spaces with your fun, loving family during your very own family photography session?
