The Best Nottingham Wedding Entertainment

Getting engaged is awesome – congratulations!! Now are you thinking about how to keep all your lovely friends and family entertained? Luckily for you, there are a tonne of awesome Nottingham wedding entertainers – the hard part is figuring out the perfect one for you!

After working in the area for a few years now, we’ve met a whole bunch of awesome singers, bands, magicians and all sorts of fun and quirky entertainers. Whilst there are a bunch of sites out there to find bands and other entertainers, it’s easy to get lost for hours searching through directories and agencies websites full of awesome acts (believe me, I’ve been there even researching this blog!). So we’ve compiled a list wedding entertainers that we think are awesome in and around Nottingham to reduce that endless search!

We fully understand picking an entertainer is a really personal choice, so we’ve tried to include a range from awesome wedding bands to some more alternative wedding entertainers!

If you have any questions or want to know our thoughts on a particular business, please contact us.

We know there are a whole lot of awesome wedding suppliers in Nottingham, we’ve been writing about a whole range this year, from videographers, celebrants, entertainers and planners to flowers, cakes and makeup artists.

The Song Pilots

Why do we think The Song Pilots are awesome Nottingham wedding entertainment?

We first met the Song Pilots at a wedding in 2019 and thought they were awesome. Simple as that. Their energetic and highly entertaining performance kept the dancefloor pumping throughout the evening. Despite being a duo, they somehow manage to create a full band sound and have a varied set list of everything from Johnny Cash and Elvis through to modern hits from George Ezra.

It was great to meet them at the wedding, but we didn’t have a chance to know them, what makes them tick and what inspires them – so we asked them!

Where are you based and how far from Nottingham do you travel?

“We’re based in Nottingham but willing to travel worldwide!”

How would you describe your business in three words?

“Professional, energetic and versatile.”

What inspires you in your business?

“The challenge of getting every wedding guest on the dancefloor and making the couples day that bit more special. Make it memorable.”

On average, how much do people spend with you?

“Average around £1200.”

What makes your wedding band special?

“Attention to detail, especially with song choice. Even matching in with the couples colour scheme! Versatility, available for the whole day or just parts of it. Can be solo, duo or trio.”

Lissie Art

Why do we think Lissie Art is awesome Nottingham wedding entertainment?

Before we found Lissie Art, seen photobooths at weddings, we’d heard about caricaturists at weddings but not someone doing full live paintings! How amazing is that?! So we dug a little deeper and were really impressed with Lissie’s paintings and loved the whole concept! We’ve also really enjoyed watching her Covid 19 Keyworker Mural develop over the last couple of months – she’s been doing awesome paintings of keyworkers to raise money for Age UK and NHS Charities Together.

We were impressed with what we saw but wanted to know more about Lissie, her artwork and what makes her business tick – so we asked her!

Where are you based and how far from Nottingham do you travel?

“I am based from my studio in Nottingham and travel all over the world! I have painted St Paul’s Cathedral in London, Hyderabad in India, The Isle of Man and all over the UK.”

How would you describe your business in three words?

“Unique, creative & fun”

What inspires you in your business?

“The people I meet and the places I get to go!  Having studied Architecture at university I’m a sucker for old buildings and my favourite weddings and events are in manors, palaces or temples.  The thing I love the most is meeting new cultures and people and also getting to taste their food!”

On average, how much do people spend with you?

“My standard price for a live painting is £850, although I have a wide range of services to suit different budgets.”

What makes your business special?

“My business is  definitely something different. I provide a unique service where I paint live at events. Guests can watch the painting come to life and the couple get to keep the piece to treasure forever. I am usually booked to ‘surprise’ someone as a gift. When people see the Live Painting service I provide they are blown away by the work. I love seeing the reactions of guests and adding value to such a special day in someone’s life.

During my client consultation, I always make sure to find out the special details of someone’s day to include it in the piece. For example, one client asked me to try and include ‘flowers in a window’ as this had a particular meaning to the couple. Each piece is as unique and special as the couple.”

David Fox Magic

Why do we think David Fox Magic is awesome Nottingham wedding entertainment?

We first met the magician David Fox at a business party and we, like the guests (as you can see above!), were amazing with his magic! He’s a lovely guy and has a really great way of keeping guests hooked and entertained.

What we know about David is awesome, but we needed to know a bit more about him, his business and what makes him tick – so we asked him!

Where are you based and how far from Nottingham do you travel?

“I’m based in Nottingham but perform at events throughout the UK and abroad too if I’m lucky to be asked.”

How would you describe your business in three words?

“Fun, friendly and reliable!”

What inspires you in your business?

“I love meeting new people and developing as a performer. It is always fascinating to entertain audiences in different contexts. I am always working hard to take my service to the next level and welcome feedback.”

“My packages are always customised depending on the size of the event and the unique requirements of the client. I always take a variety of details from an event organiser before providing an appropriate quotation.”

“I believe that my experience working in my field, attention to detail and strong drive to entertain and make people happy are vital elements in my service.”

9 Hole Events

Why do we think 9 Hole Events are awesome Nottingham wedding entertainment?

We first came across 9 Hole Events back in 2018 at Tying the Nott wedding fair and I have to say I love this idea for wedding entertainment! It’s definitely something a bit different, definitely not something you’d see at every wedding and we love that! They pride themselves on excellent customer service and making sure the couple (and their guests) have an incredible time with their crazy golf course!

We wanted to know a bit more about 9 Hole Events, what makes them special and what they love about working in the industry – so we asked them!

Where are you based and how far from Nottingham do you travel?

“We are based in northern Leicestershire and travel all over the country.  The majority of our bookings however are in Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, Warwickshire and Northamptonshire.”

How would you describe your business in three words?

“Quality, unique & fun!”

What inspires you in your business?

“We want to bring joy and happiness and childlike fun to our couples wedding days.  Nothing makes us happier than seeing the smiles on the faces of the people playing on our courses.  Life is so serious and stressful and we want people to be able to see our courses and leave that tension behind and just have fun and enjoy themselves and laugh and smile without a care in the world.

When we got married ourselves we wanted it to feel like a party, full of celebration and fun and that inspired us to create and build our crazy golf courses.”

On average, how much do people spend with you?

“People spend between £425 and £550.”

What makes your business special?

“We are something unique and different. Guests don’t expect to arrive at a wedding and see a 9 Hole Crazy Golf Course set up for their enjoyment.

Quality is of the utmost importance to us, our portable courses are built to the highest standard using the best materials.  They are durable and weatherproof and look impressive when set up with their 4ft tall castle, 10ft long ‘Tunnel of Love’ and windmill with lights and turning sails to name but a few of the exciting obstacles on offer.

Customer service is extremely important to us and we strive to do whatever we can to make our couples special day as seamless and smooth as possible.

We also appeal to all ages.  Your 3 year old nephew to your 93 year gran can all play on our course.  It’s all inclusive and a great ice breaker.  It doesn’t matter how bad a golfer you are, it’s still great fun.  Who doesn’t love a game of crazy golf?”

Skydancers

Why do we think Skydancers are awesome Nottingham wedding entertainment?

We discovered Skydancers as a fellow member of the Unconventional Weddings tribe and were mightily impressed! A combination of aerial performance and birds of prey delivering your wedding rings – what more unique approach to wedding entertainment could you need!? Justina has years of experience as a performer and has recently turned her talents to wedding entertainment and we think she and her birds are going to bring a whole lot of fun to a lot of weddings!

Where are you based and how far from Nottingham do you travel?

“I am based in Dudley, so about an hour and twenty from Nottingham, but really happy to travel anywhere work wise.”

How would you describe your business in three words?

“Impactful, flexible and unique.”

What inspires you in your business?

“My passion for aerial arts and birds.  Performing gives me chance to be imaginative and creative, it also allows me to work with the creativity of the client. Particularly if they have a specific theme or idea in mind for their event.  I can change up the make up, hair, costumes, music and make it all fit to whatever the end goal is.  As for the birds, I love them so much so being able to combine both passions is something I have had in my mind for a while and now I’m making it happen with the help of the The Falconry Centre, Hagley.”

On average, how much do people spend with you?

“It’s quite a range really and fully dependent on what skill sets the client chooses and if they choose to have more than one for the occasion or whether they double up on a single skill. I’d say it ranges between about £300 and £700.”

What makes your business special?

“I offer a very personal service, which I believe is particularly important when it comes to weddings. I can tailor a package to any theme the client chooses and perform completely in their vision but, with a little dash of me thrown in. It is what I love to do, so I will always be giving my best and they will always be dealing with me, the person and the performer throughout the entire process.”
