About me:
Hey, I’m Dave. I’ve been photographing families and weddings around Nottingham and Derby for over ten years now — always with a relaxed, fun, and natural style. My love for photography began with capturing moments of my own family and, more recently, life with my daughter, Sophie.
Before I became a full-time photographer, I worked as a primary school teacher for over a decade. I always loved the part of teaching that involved working closely with kids — but I found myself drawn more and more to photography, and eventually, it became my thing.
Why I Teach Photography
Since becoming a dad, I’ve come to appreciate even more just how important it is to capture those fleeting little moments — the ones that tell the story of who we are and how we grow. That’s what fuels my passion for photography, and it’s what I love helping others discover too.
My photography style (and teaching style!) is laid back, friendly, and hands-on. Whether I’m working with kids or adults, I keep things easygoing, chatty, and fun. I want people to feel confident with their cameras — not overwhelmed by settings and gear — and to learn by doing, not just listening.

A Bit More About Me
Outside of photography, I love being outdoors — surfing, paddleboarding, running, or heading off for countryside adventures. Spending time with Sophie is a huge part of my world, and I’m already planning how to share all these hobbies with her.
I’m also a bit of a tea geek — I’ve got over 20 blends from Bird & Blend in the cupboard (and honestly, I still think that’s not enough).
And just in case you’re wondering — yes, my years in the classroom definitely come in handy during workshops. I’ve got the patience of a teacher and a knack for breaking things down in a way that actually makes sense. Whether you’re just starting out or looking to grow your skills, I love helping people feel confident with their cameras and enjoy the process of learning.
About Amy
I am loving being a wedding photographer. I particularly enjoy meeting so many different couples and seeing them in their element on their wedding day.
I love being on (and in) the water. Be it lake, river or sea, water is my happy place. Locally, my favourite spot is Colwick Park for messing around on my paddle board.
My perfect day is spending a day out on the water with great friends before curling up in front of Gogglebox.
I love a good garden centre and will easily spend far too much money on plants. Oops!
My must-see Christmas film is Elf (I have never seen Die Hard so I couldn’t possibly comment on whether it’s a Christmas film or not).
