Top tips from a Coton House Farm photographer (aka me!)
Coton House Farm is a genuine joy to photograph at — full of character, with the kind of rustic charm that photographs beautifully whatever the season. I photographed Chloe and Aidan’s wedding here last winter, and even in the depths of winter the venue held its own with log burners roaring making for such a warm, welcomgin atmosphere, and the staff are absolutely lovely.
For an outdoor ceremony, The Pergola is a beautiful spot — the floral archway against the open countryside gives a real sense of place, and it’s a favourite of mine for that reason. If the weather turns, The Oak Terrace is a lovely fallback, with enough cover to keep everyone dry while still feeling like you’re outside.
For group shots, there are lots of options from the beautiful outdoor spaces and The Oak Barn works brilliantly as a backup if the weather isn’t on our side!
And for couple portraits, I like to keep things super simple and natural so I’d recommend a short stroll around the site down the path and finding a few nice spots along the way. The fairy lights also make for an awesome backdrop once the sun dips below the horizon.
