The sun has been shining, the trees are starting to blossom and spring has certainly arrived. You couldn’t ask for better conditions for photography. But how do you take advantage and get great photographs?

WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM YOUR FAMILY PHOTO SESSION?
It’s obvious isn’t it? You’re after photographs of your family. Of course you are but isn’t there more to it?
We think it’s about much more than that.
As the autumn leaves were still on the trees, and the colours were still looking stunning, we were really excited to meet Chloe and Craig (and of course their gorgeous kids, Spencer and Frazer) at Elvaston Castle in Derbyshire for their pre-wedding photography session. These meet-ups are always great, we get together with a couple for the first time, talk through their plans for their wedding and do a quick photography session, all before they book or commit to using us for their wedding.
One concern many parents have about booking a family photo session is “What if my kids misbehave and we end up with terrible pictures?”
Honestly? We totally expect it.
And we actually love a bit of mischief!!
We LOVE autumn, we LOVE the colours and we LOVE the many, many photographic opportunities it brings. These photographic opportunities are way more exciting that the many pumpkin spiced lattes you might see on Instagram!
So when you book your autumn family photography session, what creative ideas should you get out of your session? Whether you book a shoot with us or another family photographer in Nottingham, make sure you go prepared with these creative shots and tips!
One of the more common concerns we hear from parents in the run up to a photo shoot is, what if my child misbehaves or won’t smile? We tell parents not to worry about it, having been a teacher for nearly 5 years Dave knows what kids can be like. He knows how to have fun with them, when to have a joke and when, actually, they’re just a little shy and need a bit of time to get used to the situation.
Love taking photos of sunsets?
