Nottingham’s Best wedding Flowers:

Em’z Flower Boutique

Why do we think Em’z Flower Boutique are awesome wedding florists?

From the elegant and traditional to the botanical and wild, Emily creates stunning floral displays, bouquets, headpieces, cake flowers, buttonholes, and venue flowers. You can see a selection of her amazing work on her online gallery here.

We wanted to know more about Emily and Em’z Flower Boutique – so we asked her!

Where are you based and how far from Nottingham do you travel?

“We’re based in Sherwood, Nottingham (NG5 4AB) but we cover the whole of East Midlands with delivery and set up!”

How would you describe your business in three words?

“Textural, beautiful and BOLD.”

What inspires you in your business?

“Just simply going outside and seeing what flowers are growing there and then, the seasons and seeing how things grow naturally and using that in our floral arrangements!”

On average, how much do couples spend with you?

“On average i would say couples spend £750.00 but i get some spend less and more!”

What makes Em’z Flower Boutique special?

“We focus solely on the wedding couple and what they envision for their wedding day. We’re not the type of florist that force any flowers or foliage’s onto you. You tell us what you like and we will help with availability of flowers and whats available in that season.

Some couples don’t know where to start and just tell us a colour scheme and style and leave the rest to us, we like to be there for every couple – the couples who know what they want to every detail and the couples who are more about the look but need a little help. Every wedding couple is different, so each wedding couple may require different help in different ways when choosing their wedding flowers. We also offer any advise when needed with suggestions of course!”

Limewood Flowers

Why do we think Limewood Flowers makes awesome wedding flowers?

We first met Fran through the awesome Unconventional Wedding directory (an awesome bunch of wedding suppliers and a cracking wedding blog!) and have loved her eco-friendly, seasonal floral designs ever since. Fran is amazing at working with couples, providing them information & inspiration (Pinterest boards for the win!) and personalising their flowers. Whether that means including flowers from mum’s garden, a tartan ribbon or anything that makes them unique to you, Limewood Flowers could be just for you!

But you don’t want to just hear from us! We wanted to know more about Fran, how she runs her business and what inspires here – so we asked her!

Where are you based and how far from Nottingham do you travel?

“Limewood Flowers is based in a home studio in Wragby, Lincolnshire (you have probably driven past us if you have driven to the coast!). Nottingham is about an hour and a half from me and is at the edge of my ‘normal’ area. That said, I love going to new places so I am happy to travel to wherever your wedding is (please say Italy, or maybe the Caribbean…) if the flower budget can encompass the cost of the travel.”

How would you describe your business in three words?

“Gorgeous, eco-friendly (it’s hyphenated so counts as one, right!?) flowers!”

What inspires you in your business?

“Having worked a serious desk job for many years, it feels almost trite to say that beauty and happiness inspires me. I have always loved the outdoors and the beauty of nature so I decided to make it my job. Being able to share that beauty with couples and tailor every flower arrangement to their tastes to make their day even more special just does it for me.

On average, how much do couples spend with you?

“Good question. It varies quite a bit. I offer an exclusive service, which means that I only book one wedding at a time to make sure all my couples get the service they deserve. This means I have to have a minimum. This is currently £750 however most of my (postponed!) weddings for this year are in the region of £1,500.

Given the current situation however, I am looking at new options. A number of my postponed couples from this year would still like some flowers on their original date, just to celebrate with or for the legal ceremony. So, I am working on a smaller package deal using that will use only locally grown seasonal flowers in the couple’s colour palette.”

What makes Limewood Flowers special?

“Well, I am not sure how to answer that one! I would say it is special because I got into this for the right reasons – to create beautiful things that make people happy. So, my couples know I will do everything I can to make their day as special as it can be. Other things that I offer that I think are pretty special are:

  • One wedding per weekend so each couple gets the best flowers for them on the day
  • Private Pinterest board so we can exchange ideas and pin colour schemes without couples having to know the name of a single flower!
  • I work in a more eco-friendly way, and I have just started writing a blog series about what this means
  • Every arrangement is tailored to each couple so the flowers are unique to them, which makes every wedding more personal”

Akito Floral Design

Why do we think Akito Floral is an incredible florist?

Jacqui from Akito Floral Design, is quite simply an amazing florist, she won a silver Certificate of Excellence in the Bridebook Wedding Awards last year and it’s easy to see why! Take a look through her gallery of amazing floral designs on her website, she creates stunning bouquets, buttonholes, centrepieces and venue dressings.

We love what we know about Akito Floral Design, but we needed to know more about Jacqui’s business, inspiration, and what makes her business special – so we asked her!

Where are you based and how far from nottingham do you travel?

“We’re based in Ravenshead but we cover Notts, Derbys, Leics, and Lincolnshire.”

How would you describe your business in three words?

“Professional, Friendly & Creative.”

What inspires you in your business?

“I find inspiration from all around me, from nature and the natural world, from my garden, from colour trends and designs in home decor and fashion. The colours and shapes within all of these do impact on the floral world and wedding flower design.

The changing seasons are also of great inspiration, I advise all couples to choose ‘seasonal’ wherever possible…it’s amazing what delights can be found to use in wedding design….even in the depths of winter!”

On average, how much do couples spend with you?

“Always a tricky one this “the average” spend? All weddings are unique and as such all have a vast choice of flowers and styles to choose from, How many bouquets, how many buttonholes, the number of table centrepieces, if any? All of which inevitably has an affect on the cost.

Typically a couple can spend between £1100 – £2000 for a full package of bridal flowers, church flowers and venue centrepieces.

Prices really do depend on whether they are having a small and intimate wedding with flowers costing around £300 or if they go for a large full on celebration where florals can cost upward of £2000….the sky really is the limit if you have the budget.”

What makes your business special?

“All of my clients are important to me and I believe in giving each and everyone of them my undivided attention throughout the whole process of planning the flowers for their big day. Whether they are having that small intimate gathering of close family and friends or going for the big full on celebration my high standard of service is the same. From the initial meeting through to the big day we work closely together, in ensuring that everything is perfect for that Special Day, they’ve planned so hard for.”

Where are you based and how far from Nottingham do you travel?

“We are actually a studio based florist working in the City.  We are more than happy to travel to venues outside of the City including locations in Leicestershire, Lincolnshire  and Derbyshire but we have worked in Cheshire so very happy to travel to any location.”

How would you describe your business in three words?

“Creative, seasonal & refined.”

What inspires you in your business?

“Our clients,  other reputable florists and seasonality.”

On average, how much do couples spend with you?

“This varies depending on the scale of a wedding or event.”

What makes your business special?

“We have over 20 years experience of working with flowers and producing weddings.

We have a design background which helps to ensure creativity and a range of style.

All our costings are broken down enabling our clients to make decisions about where they want to prioritise their spend..

We have a unique design board service that helps to illustrate work to our clients before the big day.  This gives them chance to make changes if necessary and it is also helpful when trying to imagine what the combination of flowers will look like.  We like to think that this keeps the stress of not exactly knowing what to expect as limited as possible.

We definitely love the whole magic of weddings and particularly like to get to know our clients so that we can truly gauge the dreams they have for their big day.”

If real flowers aren’t your thing, that’s fine! These might be just what you’re after. We love all things a little bit quirky or darn right alternative here, so we couldn’t resist adding a few more alternative creations to our list!

Some of these awesome wedding suppliers are a little further afield than Nottingham, but because of the non perishable nature of their flowers they are much easier to post!

Eternal Posey

Why do we think Eternal Posey is an awesome alternative bouquet maker?

We love that she can accommodate such a range of styles, from the incredibly lifelike to playful colourful alternative designs. All meticulously handmade from paper so will last a lifetime!

We love how personalised Sheree’s creations can be, she uses comic books, music scores, favourite books, or handwritten notes to make flowers.

We love that her journey all started from the desire to make a perfect gift for a much cherished school teacher that helped and inspired her daughter through the tough time that is year 6 of primary school.

Where are you based and how far from Nottingham do you travel?

“I am based in Bourne, Lincolnshire. Most of my flowers are posted to my couples but on large wedding orders that are within approx 1.5/2 hours drive from my location I am more than happy to personally deliver.”

Where are you based and how far from Nottingham do you travel?

“I am based in Bourne, Lincolnshire. Most of my flowers are posted to my couples but on large wedding orders that are within approx 1.5/2 hours drive from my location I am more than happy to personally deliver.”

How would you describe your business in three words?

“Quirky, unique & fun.”

Why do you think people should consider an alternative bouquet?

“Alternative bouquets reflect your personality, your loves, your quirkiness that a traditional flower bouquet just cant do. They can tie in a specific theme and you have no restrictions on what flowers are in season at that time, or indeed what colour you would love…. if you want a silver rose then you can have a silver rose. Not only that but your bouquets can last a lifetime, can be kept on display and are an everlasting reminder of your perfect day.”

What inspires you in your business?

“I get inspired by my coupes… I know that sounds a bit cliche but every couple is different and they want their wedding to be amazing so being able to create something that is completely unique, that reflects their personalities is amazing. When they give me a rough theme and say they trust my judgement and to role with it… OMG its a dream and I love it!!”

On average, how much do couples spend with you?

“An average Bridal Bouquet would be approx £100 but I have orders from a single button hole to the whole nine yards with table decor, wall flowers as well as all the bouquets and button holes.”

What makes Eternal Posey special?

“My passion and love for what I do. Every order is unique and I always go above and beyond to make sure my couples are 110% happy with that I create for them, It’s what I love!!!”

One of CRZyBest’s vibrant, colourful, alternative bouquets.

Why do we think CRYyBest is an awesome alternative bouquet creator?

We first met the awesome Claire from CRZyBest back in 2018 at a photo shoot Tying the Nott wedding fair and we were blown away by her incredible bouquets, like this incredible creation in the photo above. Claire is an eco-friendly silversmith and creator of bespoke jewellery, accessories and bouquets, and she lovingly hand makes all of this in her garden ‘Shedquarters’. If you want something unique that will last a lifetime CRZyBest could be just what you’re after!

Where are you based and how far from Nottingham do you travel?

“I’m based in Derby, working from my CRZyBest Shedquarters and currently travel to events around Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire, although my creations travel all over the world.”

How would you describe your business in three words?

“Unique, creative & evolving.”

Why do you think people should consider an alternative bouquet?

“I am constantly inspired by the world around me, things I love and the people that ask me to create something completely bespoke for them. I can adapt to requests and apart from alternative bouquets, recently I created a mixed media headdress for an entertainments company, large pieces of wall art for an interior designer, bespoke memorial jewellery for individuals and turned business logos into branded accessories. When a customer comes to me to ask me for something a bit different, I am inspired to push the boundaries of what I can do!”

What inspires you in your business?

“I think people should consider what it is that they love and what they actually want! A CRZyBest alternative bouquet can be created to a person’s exact specifications. I can colour match to outfits or themes and I can create tiny sculptures to represent whoever and whatever you want. The bouquet can be made as small or as large as you want, I usually create bouquets from around 120 stems for the smallest to 600 plus stems for larger bouquets in. The shapes of the bouquets so far have been a traditional round or cascade shape, although I’m happy to explore any shape or size.”

On average, how much do couples spend with you?

“I work to a customer’s budget and I’d like to think that I don’t have an average customer!”

What makes CRYyBest special?

“Combining my Silversmithing, Sculpting and Ceramicist skills and I am able to draw on in depth knowledge of a variety of materials to be able to create whatever a person asks for whether it be a tiny sculpture of a pet or a giant themed bouquet inspired by your favourite TV series!”

Arlo Arts

Why do we think Arlo Arts is an awesome alternative bouquet designer?

Arlene is another incredible paper florist, creating everything from realistic flowers, stylised blooms, origami creations or a mixture of the above. Her flowers are so versatile, make great keepsakes and are, of course, amazing for those with allergies!

She may not be local to us in Nottingham, but the nature of her flowers (paper) means they can be shipped worldwide!

Where are you based and how far from Nottingham do you travel?

“I’m based in Bedford, and have a retail shop in Bedford town centre (currently closed but I’m still able to create bespoke creations from home).

Wedding flowers can be shipped worldwide, and a Las Vegas wedding is the furthest one I’ve created wedding flowers for.”

How would you describe your business in three words?

“Unusual, unconventional & rewarding.”

Why do you think people should consider an alternative bouquet?

“I love creating flowers for people whatever the occasion, and I’m always blown away when I hear people say “What? They’re made from paper!” The challenge of making new types of flowers is always inspiring.

Going from the initial consultation with the couple and turning their ideas into something beautiful for their special day is a great feeling. Seeing the joy (and tears) when I deliver the finished creations is fantastic.

It’s also a privilege to be asked to recreate wedding flowers for first wedding anniversaries (since it’s paper).”

What inspires you in your business?

“The beauty of paper flowers is that they keep, are completely bespoke for the special couple and can incorporate personalised elements. The flowers can be realistic or stylised, or a combination, and being able to incorporate elements from the wedding theme is a lovely touch – Marvel comics and Harry Potter are popular themes. Also, being able to incorporate a special flower (or flowers) in the bouquet as a memento for someone who couldn’t be there adds a personal touch.

They are created before the special day so no last minute worries waiting for the flowers to arrive, plus they won’t wilt on the day if it’s hot.

Plus they’re perfect for anyone who has allergies or for destination weddings.”

On average, how much do people spend with you?

“On average it’s around £300-£400, but since every couple is different and want different things it does vary greatly.”

What makes Arlo Arts special?

“Everything I make it handcrafted by me, I cut all petals and leaves by hand so every flower is built up layer by layer. I’m passionate about paper flowers and my journey started just over 5 years ago with my own wedding.

I’m unique in the UK since I’m the only paper florist that has a retail shop as well. People can pop into the shop (when I’m allowed to  re-open) and see me working, see the creations and work-in-progress, see the wide range of flowers, colours and paper I have available.”
